An important part of La Escuelita is the community development outside of the classroom. We often participate in or host educational and cultural activities throughout the year.
Spring 2010: 10th Anniversary ¡Salsita! Saturday, May 1st 6:30 -11:00 pm details and tickets available on-line PJ Storytime with Escuelita Families Bring your kids for a fun evening of stories and puppets! this event is for currently enrolled families. Enrollment Open House Saturday, February 20th 10 - noon Learn more about our programs, tour the space and meet the staff. Can't make the workshop but would love to try our homemade tamales? Order a dozen (or more) and they'll be ready and waiting for you to enjoy! Pick-up available only, orders will be ready by Friday, December 11th and available for pick-up at La Escuelita Arcoiris. Choose either turkey or vegetarian, $20 p/dozen. Any orders picked up after December 11th will be frozen but just as tasty. Dia de los Muertos* Sunday, November 1st Children's Museum of Pittsburgh Children's Crafts and Activities 'Legend of the Butterflies' puppet show will be performed by the LEA Alumni Group Tuesday, October 27th Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Oakland Branch Children's activities and puppet show Saturday, October 24th Silver Eye Center for Photography Join us for crafts and art for the entire family		We work hard to co-sponsor and support other local and some national organizations in an effort to share the Spanish language, music and culture with Pittsburgh families. Our community partners include: Carnegie Library system Children's Museum, Silver Eye Center for Photography Latin American Cultural Union Saturday Light Brigade Building New Hope Center for Latin American Studies Society for Contemporary Craft *Past events include:* 5 de Mayo Festival Dia de los Muertos Celebration (Fall) Arbor Inauguration Al Servicio de la Comunidad Festival (Spring) Latin American/Caribbean Festival (Fall) Latin American Benefit Brunch (Spring) Family Latino Fest (Spring) Co-op Harvest Festival (Fall) Escuelita offers a variety of services at various local community events and schools. The 'Escuelita Troupe' offers age appropriate Spanish Language and bilingual interactive puppet shows. We also offer a variety of hands-on Latin American crafts for Festival participants.
